The BBCE project has started!
On the 29th of January 2020, the project – Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence (BBCE) has finally started.
BBCE will strengthen the biomaterials industry in the region, allowing researchers to test, develop and commercialize new biomaterials for bone regeneration, facial, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthopedics and more. The project focuses on the acquisition of new strategies that will increase efficiency and achieve excellence in human resources, education, research, technological development and infrastructure. Significant resources will be invested in the training of scientific and medical staff, the development of scientific excellence and the modernization of research infrastructure.
BBCE’s headquarters, together with RTU Rudolfs Cimdins Riga Biomaterials Innovations and Development Centre, will be established in the upcoming years within the RTU student campus in Ķīpsala. The research infrastructure of OSI and RSU will also be expanded. More on a BBCE project you can found here.
